Pastor Ryan was installed as the lead pastor of City Line Church in October, 2023. He was raised in the cornfields of central Illinois. He graduated with degrees in Biblical Studies and Communications from Grace College and later a Master of Divinity from Grace Theological Seminary. In 2007 the Egli’s moved into the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. He served as ministry director, pastor, and church planter with the Liberti Communion of Churches. He was ordained in Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in 2015 and transferred to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) in 2025. He also served Renewal Presbyterian Church as the executive pastor from 2020 to 2023. He completed a Doctor of Ministry degree at Missio Seminary focusing on contextualizing urban ministry and theological education in 2022. 

Ryan is the husband of Allison and is the father of Jacob and Benjamin. The family lives in West Philadelphia. He enjoys sports, playing basketball, collecting vinyl and baseball cards, and exploring and learning about the neighborhoods of Philadelphia.

City Line Church is a diverse community drawing from a wide range of vocations, ethnicities, life stages, and religious backgrounds.  We work in schools, hospitals, stores, offices and in the home.  We are from the Philadelphia area, and we are from other parts of the country, and even the world.  We are singles, couples, young families, and grandparents.  Some of us are deeply invested in the life of the church.  And some of us get involved as much as we can, or simply come to check things out. However we might come, we are all welcomed – free to question, free to watch, free to care and to be cared for.  And all along the way, the hope that draws us all together is that we might understand and experience more fully God’s love and goodness in Jesus Christ… for us, our city, and our world.

      • Led the charge for enrollment and marketing at Missio and made sure the seminary was enrolling students that would succeed in the missional imperative to follow Jesus into the world.

    • CHURCH PLANTER & PASTOR
      • Served as the church planter and pastor of Liberti Church Northwest which was located in the Mt. Airy/Germantown neighborhoods of Philadelphia. The church sought to live, speak and serve as the very presence of Jesus in the neighborhoods of northwest Philly.

      • Gathered, taught, and shepherded the flock of Liberti Church Riverwards as a key staff person, with a particular charge of leading the church in mercy and neighborhood outreach ministries.

      • Served as the leader of internet marketing at Eastern University. Responsibilities included SEM, SEO, display advertising, email, along with other forms of outbound marketing, managed the budget and did marketing research and competitive analysis.
