Feedwell: Privacy Policy
Effective October 24, 2026
Feedwell is an RSS reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac, made by Ryan Egli. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
The short version
Feedwell doesn’t collect, store or share any personal information. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer never receives any of your data.
Your library stays with you
Your feeds, folders, read status, saved articles (Later, Bookmarks and Favorites), muted words, settings and listening progress are stored on your devices. If you’re signed in to iCloud, they sync between your devices through your own private iCloud database, which only you can access. Apple’s privacy policy covers iCloud. To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Feedwell in your device’s iCloud settings.
Connecting to the sources you choose
To show your feeds, Feedwell connects directly to the websites, podcasts and services you subscribe to and downloads their feeds, articles, images and audio. When you load the full text of an article, Feedwell downloads the original web page from the publisher. Like any web request, these connections share your IP address and basic device information with that publisher, and their own privacy policies apply. No request goes through the developer’s servers.
When you add a feed, Feedwell may look up the site’s icon from that site.
When you paste an Apple Podcasts link, Feedwell asks Apple’s public podcast directory for the show’s feed address.
Videos from YouTube play in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedded player. Google’s privacy policy applies when you play a video.
Feedwell’s reader turns off publisher scripts and removes tracking pixels from articles, and it doesn’t keep website cookies.
Features that run on your device
Summaries are made on your device with Apple Intelligence. Article text is never sent to the developer or anyone else to be summarized.
Read Aloud uses your device’s built-in voices.
Notifications are optional, off by default, and generated on your device. Feedwell doesn’t send push notifications of its own.
Spotlight search, widgets and Siri use data stored on your device.
Purchases
Feedwell is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and the developer doesn’t receive your name, email address or payment details.
Children
Feedwell doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
