Privacy Policy

LPCrate is a personal record-collection catalog app. This page explains what happens to your information when you use it. In short: we don't collect, see, or have access to any of your data. Everything you enter stays on your device and, if you choose to enable it, in your own private iCloud account.
Information we do not collect
LPCrate has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not operate any server that receives, stores, or processes your collection data. The developer of LPCrate has no way to see your records, photos, notes, or any other content you add to the app.
What's stored, and where
When you add a record to your collection — artist, title, label, catalog number, condition, notes, rating, photos, and so on — that information is stored:
Locally on your device, always.
In your own private iCloud account, if you're signed into iCloud on your device, so your collection can sync across your own devices. This uses Apple's CloudKit private database, which only you and your own signed-in devices can access. The developer of LPCrate cannot see, access, or download this data — Apple's private database architecture doesn't allow it.
If you're not signed into iCloud, or you disable sync, your collection simply stays on your device.
Camera
LPCrate asks for camera access so you can photograph the front and back covers of your records. Photos you take are stored the same way as the rest of your collection data — locally and, if enabled, in your own private iCloud account. Photos are never uploaded anywhere else.
Discogs lookup
LPCrate can look up a record's details by scanning or entering its barcode. When you use this feature, the barcode is sent directly from your device to Discogs, a third-party music database, to retrieve matching release information. This request goes straight from your device to Discogs — it does not pass through or get logged by any server we operate. Discogs' own privacy practices apply to that request; see Discogs' privacy policy for details. This feature is optional — you can add records manually without ever using it.
In-app purchase
LPCrate offers an optional one-time purchase ("LPCrate Pro") to unlock unlimited records. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see or receive your payment details, billing address, or any other payment information — that's handled by Apple according to Apple's own privacy policy.
Push notifications
LPCrate registers for silent, background push notifications solely to know when your iCloud data has changed on another device, so it can keep your collection in sync. These are not visible notifications and are not used for marketing or alerts of any kind.
Sharing your information
We don't share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your information to anyone, because we don't have access to it in the first place.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual records, or your entire collection, at any time from within the app. Deleting a record removes it from your device and, if sync is enabled, from your private iCloud database. Uninstalling the app removes all data stored locally on that device.
Children's privacy
LPCrate is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age — again, because it doesn't collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "Last updated" date.
